Biography

Born in Tiberiad, Israel, Tsion Agai has long been considered a master at his work. He studied Fine Arts at The Wizo Art School in Tel Aviv, then moved to Paris to continue his education at The Ecole Des Arts Decoratifs.

 

While living and working in Paris, he exhibited his work in galleries such as: Jean Pierre Lavigne , L’Aire du Verseau, Salon de Montrouge and others. In 1984, Tsion relocated to New York and worked as an artist and as decorative painter in the interior design industry.

 

After exhibiting at Ok Harris in 1990, he established himself in Los Angeles to work on projects with prestigious designers and received commissions from the private royal household of Saudi Arabia. As an artist in Los Angeles, he started sculpting with materials described as both innovative and classical, employing the strength and the resilience of traditional techniques but with the benefit of contemporary materials, industrial paper, resin, pigments and synthetic flex powder.

 

Over 20 years of professional expertise, Tsion has cultivated a profoundly unique result with deep esthetic mastery. The outcome of his mastery has led to another artistic advancement, cultivating a vast portfolio of large-scale panels for designed environments, residential and commercial, monumental or utilitarian, in the landscape, as installations, or indeed to elevate any flat plane into a work of profound, unique beauty.
